04.12.2011- Urban Outfitters SS12

Last week I was invited along to the Elms Lesters Painting Rooms to have a sneaky peek at what Urban Outfitters have on the cards for SS12. Whilst it seems crazy to be planning for the summer when we're only three weeks away from Christmas Day (aaah!), it was lovely to escape the gloomy London weather to have a look at the vibrant colours and exclusive designer collaborations on offer for next year...

The amazing location!

Urban Outfitters' own label collection for SS12 consists of floral prints, bold colours and graphic patterns...

...and there are some amazing designer pieces to come for next season- this beautiful Jonathan Saunders scarf immediately caught my eye.

This stunning printed dress by Australian label Something Else was another highlight...

...as was this exclusive Matthew Williamson design.

Other exclusives on show included offerings from tba and Claudie Pierlot, incorporating cute collar details and luxurious fabrics.

There was also an amazing array of accessories on offer...

...and some beautiful swimwear, including this Missoni-esque bikini.

Finally, this beautiful canary yellow dress was a real ray of sunshine!

I was really impressed with everything I saw- the core collection was really strong, featuring summer staples such as flyaway blouses, simple shorts and a range of really easy to wear dresses. I also loved the look of all the designer collaborations to come for next season (particularly the Matthew Williamson range!), and can't wait to see everything again in store. Thanks to Urban Outfitters for the invite!

05.10.2011- What I Wore Today #2

Am I the only one finding it really hard to decide what to wear in this unpredictable weather? One minute the sun is shining and temperatures soaring, the next it's pouring with rain! For a day of window shopping (and buying a lot of new baking goodies after watching the final of The Great British Bake Off), I opted for a suitably weatherproof outfit:

Dress- tba
Mac- Oasis

I picked up this velvet dress by tba in the Urban Outfitters sale last year and it has become one of my favourite purchases. It's really versatile (I practically lived in it last Christmas!) and I love the cut-out collar. Worn with thick black tights and this Mac from Oasis, it's perfect for a changeable autumnal day.

What are your go-to pieces for the autumn? And did you watch the final of the Great British Bake Off?

08.08.2011- Monday Must-haves: tba edition

I was all set to put together a 'Must-haves' post for today, but as soon as I saw these lookbook images for tba's AW11 collection, my planned post went out of the window! Back in April I blogged about having a sneaky press day preview of the collection, and have since been waiting with baited breath for the lookbook showcasing the full range of designs for AW11. I fear like I'm starting to sound a bit like a broken record where my love for this label is concerned, but I can't help but adore every collection they produce. So, with this in mind, this week's 'Monday Must-haves' post is dedicated to these gorgeous pieces which have firmly cemented themselves at the top of my wishlist for the new season:

Eva Dress

Gemma Dress

Ivana Blouse

Katya Dress

Yina Dress

Aimee Coat
So cute, right? You can have a look at the whole collection on tba's facebook page. I'm off to start saving my pennies!

10.04.2010- Sunny Afternoon

Wow, long time no blog, I'm sorry! Real life (aka a mountain of Uni work) has caught up with me a little recently, and I've had a rather busy week. On Wednesday, my mum and I made a spontaneous trip to London Zoo, in view of how gorgeous the weather was. We had a lovely time, and I managed to take some amazing photos which I'll hopefully post quite soon. Then, on Thursday, my best friend Sarah and I were invited along to the h.prlondon press day in Piccadilly. It seemed very strange to be looking at samples of Autumn/Winter 2011 collections when it was swelteringly hot outside, but some of the pieces, from designers including Paul & Joe, tba and Nougat were just beautiful.

Beautiful printed dress from Nougat.

Lovely nightwear from a brand I forgot to note down (doh!)

Flowery knickers by Ell and Cee Bride, launching soon!

Jumpsuit by Ell and Cee.

Scalloped-edge top, Borne by Elise Berger.

Paul & Joe!

Paul & Joe's collection for next season encapsulated a very 70's feel, I especially loved the prints.

tba's offering for A/W11 featured more trademark peter pan collars.

The collection also featured monochrome touches...

...and cute bow detailing.

My standout piece from tba was this beautiful powder blue dress with collar and pocket detail.

A stunning lace dress by Nicole Murray.

Jacey Withers' quirky jewellery collection...

...this owl necklace was another one of my favourites.

Cake pops!
Then, in need of sustenance after being immersed in next season's fashion, we headed over to Bea's of Bloomsbury in Holborn for a spot of late afternoon tea:

All in all, a lovely day!

Are you impressed by what you've seen for A/W11 so far? And what have you been getting up to in the sunshine?

29.01.2011- tba SS11

I've posted before about my love for tba's designs, and, when I saw these images from their SS11 lookbook, I just had to share:
Not only are all the individual pieces from this collection beautiful (I especially love the Sam Tunic in the fourth picture), but the way each look has been styled is exceptional. I love Binbin McNiven's fusion of 20's inspired detail (geometric collars, ankle socks and pretty prints) with a 70's sensibility (centre partings, floppy hats and oversize sunglasses). Hurry up spring!
