Monday Must Have - Chunky Knit Edition

Hi lovelies, how're we all doing today? I know it's moody Monday and all that but I hope you have at least somewhat of a smile on your faces. I'm currently coming up with a 'Must do right the f*ck now' list - because lets face it, everything gets neglected at weekends and I've got a pile of requirements that need to be attended to!

One of which was this little post, requested by the lovely Lisa (check out her blog here) who is mighty keen on getting her hands on a new chunky knit in the near future, but was struggling with ideas for ways to style it.

To sort out Lisa's little problem I first hunted down this utterly gorgeous chunky knit :
Which is available at Dorothy Perkins £35.00
and utterly perfect for layering over a variety of Autumn/Winter outfits, as shown here:

Outfit One
Showing that a comfy knit does not have to equal slobby chic, Outfit One embodies the effortless elegance of a layered and textured Autumn/Winter outfit. The divine silky printed dress placed under the warm cardigan lets you rejoice in the fact that your summer frocks do not have to be condemmed to six months of storage and can continue to shine throughout the colder months. The cute shoes add a cosy feel, as of course, does the hat, whilst the pop of colour from the clutch bag and the element of luxury from the divine peacock style cuff round of the outfit and give it a real luxe edge.

Outfit Two
Outfit Two is perhaps the most 'Typical' in terms of how one would imagine styling a chunky knit cardigan. Casual yet achingly chic this outfit could be thrown together in minutes and yet looks structured, stylish and not at all sloppy. The rich tone of the top teamed with the divine foppy hat warm the outfit up just as much as the knit itself would do literally, and keep the colour pallet from looking bland. The gorgeous boots would work over anything and most importantly allow you to coat your tootsies in many layers of socks underneath and keep that Winter chill at bay.

Outfit Three
Outfit Three was clearly influenced by the fact I am going through somewhat of a Nirvana renaissance for the second time in my life. Grunge glamour is high on my list of priorities right now and this set truly embodies this. From the rich burgundy toned skirt to the classic yet not so classc take on Dc Marten boots, this set has more than a whiff of Teen Spirit about it. The slouchy beany and loud and proud rock chick top combine to lace the set with attitude and the hardwearing cuff snarls 'Dont mess with me I'm angsty~ and I'm stylish!'

Outfit Four
Lastly, Outfit Four kind of embodies to me the type of clothes I love to lounge around in at home. Comfy, cosy yet not to scruffy. A little bit of structure helps to reassure your mind that yes, whilst you might not acctualllly have done much today - you at least got up, got dressed and appeared semi-presentable for your lazing. The stripey top is definitely what I'd call a 'classic' as I can think of 150 things off the top of my head that it would work with. The scarf is just perfect for nestling down into and the bracelets are the lazy girls way to inject a little bit of glam into her slumberous style.

There we are then loves, as usual if you've spotted any particular item that you're deperate to get your hands on just leave a comment or tweet me and I'll get back to you with a link.

Also as a quick favour I'd love it if you could all check out my first official blog for Boohoo.co.uk! I'm absolutely thrilled and honoured to be guest blogging for them and it would meen the world if you could have a look. You can do so right HERE.

Thankyou! Happy Monday guys!

What I wore Wednesday - Frank and Doll edition

Hi honey's how're we all doing today? I'm so dissapointed to tell you all that my bug hunt got cancelled yesterday because of the rain - booo!

Ha-ha on to more impressive and glamorous news now ;) a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a piece of clothing from a fabulous clothing line named Frank and Doll.

Frank and Doll are a fabulous London based boutique who combine classic chic styling with a real rock n roll edge. Their selection of goodies includes incredible winter knits and fierce slogan tee's. In short - everything I love in a brand! Check out their goodies HERE. I warn you though, your bank account may feel a little empty afterwards.

And now let's have a look at the gorgeous winter warmer that I was lucky enough to get my hands on:

The ultime winter knit I'm sure you'll all agree?! You can order your own version HERE. A little warning - they do come up quite large which I personally love but if you prefer your knits a little more fitted it'd perhaps be better to go down a size (always a nice feeling right?) I'm wearing the extra small as you can see it's still fairly oversized.

I teamed mine with
Leather Leggings - H&M
Suede Wedges - H&M
Beanie Hat - Curtesy of my daddy ;)

Big big thanks to Frank and Doll and I'd advise you all to go and check them out! You wont be dissapointed

Monday Must Have 07/11/11

Hello beautts. How're we all doing today? I woke up with the crappiest headache going, tried sleeping it off (with the aid of the cat who decided a long lie-in was purrfect protocol) and it just seems to have got worse - boo! I should probably step away from the laptop screen but I'd get withdrawal within a minute.

Today we return to that Monday staple here on fashionismyh2o - Monday Must Haves. I'm quite interested in seeing your thoughts on this one as it's a little bit controversial. Not to the scale of Xfactor (omg Frankie whaaat?) but enough that it usually gets people talking. In case you're wondering what I'm going on about which is probably a theme on this blog my 'must-have' item of the day today is :

H&M £24.99
Oh yes. It's leather. And here's a few different ways of styling to show you don't have to wait for after dark debauchery to work this.

Outfit One
Leather is one hundred percent perfect if you have a little bit of a bohemian flair. The luxury of the material makes it so beautiful contrasted with other fabrics such as this chunky suede gillet and floaty floral scarf. A range of tones and textures bring this look together in a subtle warm way and the chunky jewellery just finishes it off to perfection. Team with thick tights in the winter in any wine coloured shade.

Outfit Two
Outfit Two definitely has the typical Autumnal colour scheme - lots of mustards, browns and plaid tones mixed together. It's also a delicious nod to the Grunge trend which I personally think was maaade for Autumn. The bag compliments the detailing on the boot perfectly and the gloves and scarf pull it all together. Then I can safely say that that plaid jacket is definitely on my Winter Wish List.

Outfit Three
The complete opposite to the previous outfit, this set is the perfect way to showcase that actually, leather can be incredibly classy, thankyou. I adore the cream fitted jacket here - I'm getting Gossip Girl vibes from this one again. The patent flats are absolutely adorable and help to keep this look day-time friendly. Then we have the classic tote bag and ladylike gloves to top everything off.

Outfit Four

Lastly we have this slightly Rock chick outfit which links back to what you'd stereotypically expect from a Leather based outfit. The chunky knit cardigan is both cosy and effortlessly chic (it'd look fabulous over skinny jeans and long boots too). The bag adds just enough colour to prevent a bland appearance. The chunky cuff and keyhole ring are both quirky and add a fun edge to the look. Then those boots and that hat keep the look fresh from top to toe. Perfection.

There we are loves. Four ways to wear leather and no killer heels in sight!
As per usual if you see an item you'd like a link to just tweet me or leave a comment below
Have a lovely Monday

Decadent Winter Purchase

Hello beauties.
As those of you who've followed this blog for a while/follow me on twitter will knowI am rather partial to complaining about being cold/freezing/chilly/frozen/all of those.
This complaining is generally accompanied by endless longing for that perfect Winter coat that will keep me toastier than toast yet sleak and stylish as opposed to stuffy and puffy.

Well. After endless procrastination that beautiful day has finally arrived. Spurred on by the terrible influence that is my mother I purchased my very own devlishly gorgeous and decadently expensive Winter Coat
(decadently expensive for me anyway I'm the queen of not wanting to spend over £30)

Here it is in all it's cosy winter glory:

Outfit
1. The COAT - H&M
2. The Shoes - New Look
3. The Hat - Accessorise
4. The Gloves - H&M

I think I'm in love.
Have a good weekend girls

What I Wore Wednesday 19/10/11

Hey lovelies! How're we all doing? Mid-week blues or happy that the weekend is finally approaching? Is it just me or has today been absolutely furrreeezing? I've had two pairs of tights on under my work trousers and still been shivering-brrr!
Winter is truly upon us it seems.

Appologies for slacking on the outfit posts again lately - finding someone to take the pics is quite tricky and I have a >terrible< track record of self photographing - including the time I dropped the camera on my toe, down the stairs... the list goes on
.

Today though I managed to bribe my little sister (big love to her-woo) and here's a couple of snaps of one of my fave cold weather combos:

1. Jumper - Republic - My absolute >favourite< this Autumn/Winter
2. Skirt - H&M Leather is my thing we all know this ;)
3. Boots - Internacionale (baargain £12.00)
4. Beret - Accessorise (does anyone know if I can stick in the washing machine?)
5. Rings - Assorted

Have a good night sweeties <3

Blaze of glory

Hiya chicks! How're you all doing? Can't beleive it's Thursday already the weeks seem to be whizzing by like they're on some kind of drug (or maybe that's just me - certainly feels like it!) Friday tomorrow then it'll be Halloween before we know it, bonfire night, Christmas, Summer 2012 - YIKES.

Anyway, before I get carried away with the future I wanted to explore a trend that I'm sure we all know is very 'Now'
:

Blazers
Blazers are quite simply everywhere and seem to be the go-to piece these days for chucking on over anything. I personally love them as I love a nicely tailored piece and anything that will make my last minute leggings + Long top combination look more chic is great with me!

Aside from the classic black + grey blazers around at the moment I've been inspired lately by the Autumnal shaded ones - perfect for a cosy A/W outfit. Here's my faves from the high st:

So there we are my loves - what's your take on Blazers?

Cape Town

Hello sugars, how're we all today? Currently waiting for Mr Postman to pay me a visit (does anyone else think this makes the day go ridiculously slow or am I just impatient?) Another freezing day in blustery Britain (I swear my alliteration is natural I need to stop ha-ha) so I've been on the hunt again for more cosey clothes.

Today we're going a little bit batman and focusing on the gorgeous Autumn/Winter key piece that is the cape. Versatile, stylish and perfect for indulging your inner super-hero, capes are fast swinging their way into the hearts of the fashionistapack.

Here's some gorgeous cape images from fashionweek:

Absolutely in lurve with the detailing / fabric contrasts.

And here are some budget friendly versions I've hunted down so you can all become caped crusaders this A/W ;)

First we have this very regal looking beauty which also has a little bit of a military edge thanks to the gorgeous buttons. This has got to be my personal favourite as the colour and the cut just make it look so expensive and classic!
Romwe £37.00

Next up we have this beautiful simple camel/caramel (that's a mouthful) coloured creation. Super cute with a quirky neck detail that sets it apart, this baby would look good over anything. (Personally imagining it over a LBD with some gorgeous winter boots)
Dorothy Perkins £55.00

We then have this classic tie detailed cape which comes in such a beautiful cream colour (stay away from any mulled wine whilst in this beauty) again I can imagine this neutral lovely looking amazing with a range of colour palettes - blacks, blues and even as a softer shade over a gorgeous burgundy dress.
Tesco £35.00
Next up we have our first little black number similar in detail to the cream number above, this baby turns up the volume with it's edgy button details and high collar = high glam. Best bit is the price and absolute snip at...
This little number is the most expensive of the bunch but with it's Rachel Zoe esque design and classic colour combination it would be the perfect investment piece to carry you all through Autumn and Winter in style (and warmth)
Topshop £85.00

Lastly we have another super budget friendly cutie in this cropped grey design. Minamlistic and effortlessly chic this would look gorgeous teamed with skinny jeans for a lighter Autumn look.
Tesco £30.00

So there we are my lovelies, will you be channelling your inner superhero this Autumn/Winter?

(Ankle) Booty Call

Ha-ha-ha I swear my post titles get more and more cringey, someone needs to have a serious word with me before you all run off in despair! I hope you're all well and good, feels like this week is going strangely fast again and I can't quite beleive that it's September already tomorrow! However, I am very happy with this as it does meen I'm legitimately allowed to claim it's Autumn and dig out the tights, the knits and of course... the boots.

Ah yes, boots. Now I'm a person who's guilty of having many obsession (most of which relate to Spanish men - haii Enrique, Fabregas ETC) but boots are definitely one of the most prominent - especially of the ankle variety. Due to this obsession I spent most of yesterday evening hunting down the most fabulous affordable boots that I could find (and add to my WANTNEEDGETMENOW list of course)

Here's the beauties that I found - seperated into sections for you because I'm nice like that ;)

Heels

Wedges

Flats

So there we are honies, some boots that're made for catwalkin ;)
I promise I'll stop with the puns now ha-ha enjoy your day!

Designer Knits for Less

Hello beauties, I hope  you're all well! As we all know (mainly because I wont stop banging on about it) the colder nights are drawing in (dark at 8:30 BOO) and the high-street is currently awash with a complete feast of Autumn/Winter goodies (YAY).

When I was browsing today (including the lovely Mia's website) I came across some really funky knitwear that totally reminded me of Proenza schouler and Missoni's gorgeous patterned designs. Here are some of these designer looks from  fashion week :

 Proenza Schouler

Missoni

And here are some amazing 'copies' that I've spied on the high-street. They'd look absolutely fabulous as a gorgeous focal piece of any outfit (I especially love them teamed with black skinnies or leggings and long boots) and for an added bonus these babies come at an absolute fraction of the price :

So there we are my loves a way to wrap up in super style but without the super cost!
Stay cosy!

Baby it's cold out here (In August)

Hiya honey's I hope you're all well and good. Obviously I jinxed myself mentioning the sunshine yesterday because today I woke up to clouds that would look more at home in November than August -le sigh-

However, this has allowed me to indugle my absolute LOVE affair (seriously this could be made into some old fashioned romantic film I'm that obsessed) with Autumn clothing. I don't know just what it is about Autumn clothing that grabs my heart so much but I can guarantee to you that by about ... July I'm already eagerly awaiting the first cold snap of the year which ='s justifcation of an Autumn/ Winter Raid.

Today I have for you the most gorgeous selection of high-street winter jackets to keep you cosy this fall :

Firstly, all I really have to say to explain this choice is 'Look at the colour' so yeah, look at the colour! Has there ever been a more gorgeous, warming shade of red? I don't think so. Dreaming of teaming this with flat patent black knee boots and a cream chunky knit scarf for a crisp Autumn walk. Heaven.
Miss Selfridge £65.00

We then have this gorgeous utilatarian Parker style jacket. The faded style is right up my grungey street and I absolutely adore this - I imagine it casually slung over a little black dress, tights and layered knee high socks with some winter boots.

This gorgeous rusty coloured number is a slightly smarter choice. Perfect for layering over an elegant knit jumper dress or for teaming with skinny jeans and knee high boots for high-fashion fall style.
Dorothy Perkins £40.00
After yesterdays feminine flirtation this tough chic beauty brought me right back to my rock n roll roots. Would you just look at that amazing buckle that's going to pull you right in? And let's not even mention the perfect fur edging on the collar for when those cold nights draw in. Dreamy.

Lastly we have this adorably kitsch style blazer which I absolutely adore. Team with skinny jeans and ankle boots for a real indie influenced outfit or go vintage princess and layer it over your favourite thrifted frock. Either way it's completely gorgeous and a steal at only

So there we go my loves, a quick fling with the Autumn/Winter high-street to keep you cosy on this dreary day!

Also, if  you're stuck on how to accessorise your latest purchases I've been checking out this fab site quite a bit recently
http://clothing-and-accessories.become.co.uk/ for ideas of what would work with what.
