High-Street Princess - My look competition entry.

Once upon a time there was a girl named Sarah. Most unusually for a story beginning as this does, Sarah was no Princess. She wore no crown of glory upon her head. She had no waist-length golden curls that fell like an obedient waterfall over her gowns of ivory and lace. Sarah was not the prettiest, the smartest and she most certainly was not the richest. Sarah often gazed around the land in which she inhabited in despair - not because she had missplaced her prince, become locked in a tower or awoken surrounded by strange dwarf like creatures (in-fact Sarah was rather petite herself so would have felt rather at home there). Sarah was in despair because all around her the beleif that only thin is in, only designer will do and that only pampered hollywood icons are beautiful resonated. Girls across the land were forever reminded that their adverage bodies, their normal hair and their budget clothes would never be good enough.

Sarah had had enough. In September 2010 she embarked upon a journey to reassure the girls of her nation that they are all beautiful, they are all worthy and that with a little magic (of the fairy godmother variety or the magic star chocolate variety - your choice) every single one of them can look and feel incredible. For months now Sarah has worked on her journey of bringing beautiful yet affordable goodies to the girls of Great Britain. She has battled through the High-Streets on many a Saturday (Armed with an umbrella instead of a sword - fear not) and spent hours refreshing the 'New In' pages that our high-street fashion houses display online. After such quests Sarah has sat (often accompanied by a little chocolate for sustenance) and pondered just what items would work for what fair maiden. This quest has been long and arduos but Sarah has loved every second of it and will continue on her journey for just as long as the girls of Great Britain desire.

But now, word has reached Sarah, drifted downear on the blogwind, that a new challenge has arisen, one brimming with oppurtunites and chances too great to miss out on. One that would mean the world to a little none Princess from a small and sleepy suburb outside of Birmingham. The chance to report live from a show that champions the glory of affordable fashion. The chance to view first hand the gorgeous garments that will form the inspiration for so many outfits in the coming months. The chance to revel in the glorious change that is occuring, the change which is allowing all of us none-princesses out there to to feel, to LOOK like the beautiful, gorgeous, successful girl that we all deserve to be.

It is time to stand up for the normal girl, the adverage budget, the high-street clothes and the drug store beauty and realise that we are all beautiful. We are all as incredible as the richest Hollywood supernova. We're all amazing.

Let's start beleiving.
