(Ankle) Booty Call

Ha-ha-ha I swear my post titles get more and more cringey, someone needs to have a serious word with me before you all run off in despair! I hope you're all well and good, feels like this week is going strangely fast again and I can't quite beleive that it's September already tomorrow! However, I am very happy with this as it does meen I'm legitimately allowed to claim it's Autumn and dig out the tights, the knits and of course... the boots.

Ah yes, boots. Now I'm a person who's guilty of having many obsession (most of which relate to Spanish men - haii Enrique, Fabregas ETC) but boots are definitely one of the most prominent - especially of the ankle variety. Due to this obsession I spent most of yesterday evening hunting down the most fabulous affordable boots that I could find (and add to my WANTNEEDGETMENOW list of course)

Here's the beauties that I found - seperated into sections for you because I'm nice like that ;)

Heels

Wedges

Flats

So there we are honies, some boots that're made for catwalkin ;)
I promise I'll stop with the puns now ha-ha enjoy your day!

Designer Knits for Less

Hello beauties, I hope  you're all well! As we all know (mainly because I wont stop banging on about it) the colder nights are drawing in (dark at 8:30 BOO) and the high-street is currently awash with a complete feast of Autumn/Winter goodies (YAY).

When I was browsing today (including the lovely Mia's website) I came across some really funky knitwear that totally reminded me of Proenza schouler and Missoni's gorgeous patterned designs. Here are some of these designer looks from  fashion week :

 Proenza Schouler

Missoni

And here are some amazing 'copies' that I've spied on the high-street. They'd look absolutely fabulous as a gorgeous focal piece of any outfit (I especially love them teamed with black skinnies or leggings and long boots) and for an added bonus these babies come at an absolute fraction of the price :

So there we are my loves a way to wrap up in super style but without the super cost!
Stay cosy!

29.08.2011- (Bank Holiday) Monday Must-haves

Hello lovelies! Hope you've all had a lovely, relaxing Bank Holiday Monday. My productive morning slid into a very lazy afternoon, as I fell asleep watching The Incredibles (how rock and roll of me!)...but if you can't indulge in a mid-afternoon nap at the Bank Holiday than when can you? Luckily, I'm now wide awake and here with my must-haves for this week:

This week's 'Must-haves' is a bit of a dress fest, but as autumn fast approaches I'm going to be stocking up on versatile styles which I can team with tights, boots and woolly jumpers to keep the cold at bay! This swing dress from ASOS is at the top of my 'winter dresses' list, I love the shape and the lace detailing, plus the turn-down collar is oh-so trendy. I saw this leopard print drop-waisted dress in Zara at the weekend, and instantly fell in love with the colours...perfectly autumnal. As a rule I'm not a big fan of leopard print (I always think there's a fine line between looking stylish and channelling the first lady of leopard, HRH Bet Lynch) but I love that this print isn't too gaudy. I also picked this failsafe floral number from New Look, as I think it would look perfect with a chunky knit and is a definite keeper for the summer months too. I was really drawn to the muted colours of this top from Oasis, and love the cut too. I fell in love with this ring from Whistles after spying it on Vicky's blog a while ago, and am including it here as a reminder to myself to buy it soon...simply too cute. Finally, I got a little bit too excited when Topshop dropped their new season make-up online last week, as I'm a massive fan of their lipsticks (they have amazing staying power). This baby pink shade is perfect, and I've been after a similar colour for ages (can you tell I'm trying to justify adding to my rapidly expanding collection?!)

What bits and pieces have you got your eye on at the moment? And what do you think of my picks for this week?

Ring a ding bling

Lately I've had a real magpie like obsession with costume style jewellery usually I'm a dainty ring kind of lady but the beauties on offer at the moment might just be calling my over to the bling side. I love the way a couple of these can add a whole new dimention to an outfit, update your look and without wanting to be cliche - take you from drab to fab.

Here are my current favourite budget picks:

As Beyonce (big congrats to her btw) would say
"If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it"

Sleepy Sunday Sights

Hello loves. You find my on a ridiculously sleepy Sunday nestled into boyfriend clothes and firmly curled up in my chair. Despite the slumber my excitment for a new season, new start and new inspiration seems to grow by the day.

Here are the images that have been helping with that this week

Beauties no?
Enjoy your day of rest

28.08.2011- Sunday Style Spotlight #2: Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld is one cool kid. Oscar nominated for her performance as Mattie Ross in True Grit, recently revealed as the new face of Miu Miu's AW11 ad campaign and LOVE magazine cover star. And, as if that wasn't enough, Hailee has also developed a signature style, showcasing an understated elegance on the red carpet, and even designing her own gown for the Oscars. The thing I love about Hailee's approach to style is how classic it is- simple dresses, sleek hair and makeup and co-ordinated accessories all play a part in creating the effortlessly ladylike look which she's honed over the last year or so:

Miu Miu has become a firm favourite for Hailee on the red carpet (talk about perk of the job!), and the swallow print dress from their AW11 presentation has become one of the most covetable items for the coming season. At a fraction of the price, this gorgeous red version from Warehouse is perfect for channelling some of Hailee's demure style. Embellishments, detailed collars and feminine colours are also key, as is that beautiful smile! I can't wait to see how Hailee's style develops as her career progresses- she's soon set to star in a new adaptation of Romeo and Juliet which I think will be amazing. Watch this space!

What do you think of Hailee's style? Are you a fan? And what do you think of her collaboration with Miu Miu?

Look for less - Winter Addition!

Hello beauties! I hope you've all got that fabulous Friday feeling right about now?! Welcome to the weekend and a couple of days to re-charge those batteries and refresh those feet after a week of rushing around in stillettos.

To further bring you weekend cheeriness I've been on the hunt for some budget replicas of this seasons gorgeous designer winter wear
! Can I just say I'm officially in love with the high-street at the moment and can't wait to go stock up on all my cosies for the cold snap!

Here's my top finds :

Firstly we have these babies. And I dont know about you but in the winter if somethings got fur on it ... I want it ha-ha. I'm all about embracing my inner eskimo and cuddling down in something cosey.
On the left we have the blowout buy - Acne £1200
And on the right - Dorothy Perkins £55.00
Next up we have some toasty marshmallow coloured knits - now whilst these might not quite be good enough to eat (imagine the furballs) they're almost there! I love the idea of snuggling up in one of these on a cold winter night.
On the left - blowout - Rag and Bone £180.00
And on the right - budget - Dorothy Perkins £28.00

This fal I am absolutely obsessssed with shoe-boots I can't even tell you how many pairs I've seen that have literally caused my jaw to drop. These two are definitely examples of how freaking amazing these inventions can be. Imagine them teamed with super skinny jeans and a gorgeous oversized knit -grunge glamour perfection!
On the left - blowout - Miu Miu £515.00
On the right - budget - Asos £26.00

Berry and wine colours are so in this fall (probably because they encourage red wine consumption and who needs an excuse for that?!) and of course no bag is more covetable than a classic chanel so the mix of the two is every bit as intoxicating to the eyes as a huge glass of vino is to the mind! Despite a few obvious differences the budget bag here isn't too shabby and still has that beautiful pop of colour.
On the left - Blow out - Chanel - Price on purchase
On the right - Miss Selfridge £11.00

Lastly you all know how cerazzzy I am for leather (yeah ok I know im crazy in general but work with me here) and leather leggings have to be one of my ultimate favourite items. They look so gorgeous teamed with killer heels for a night out or effortlessly chic with an oversized shirt and flats for a casual ensemble.
On the left blowout - Michael Kors £395.00
On the right - budget - Bank £15.00

So there we are my loves! Some winter goodie steals for you!
If anyone is interested in me hunting down budget versions of anything pretty you've seen lately just leave a comment or email:

Happy weekend!

Madelines 'Summer walk' competition

Hey babes, I hope you're all well and good! As you might know if you follow me on twitter I was having a little bit of a melt-down last night over financial issues having spent the day haring around town trying to get it all sorted I wasn't that impressed to hear I'd have to wait till today at the earliest to fix things up!

However, every cloud has a silver lining and seeing as I had a free none-finance based evening I decided to set about working on a competition enty for the gorgeous Madelines 'Summer Walk' competition.

The competition basically is to design a gorgeous outfit that you would wear on a summer walk and wether it be in an outfit post , a polyvore build or any other format post it on your blog. For full details you can check out the post about it here and please do head over and check the rest of her blog while you're there - it's one of my all time favourites!

So, for my entry I decided to put a little fashionismyh2o twist on things and design three outfits based around the same simple tank top that would fit varying styles.

Here we are :

Outfit one - Rock n roll

This would deffo be my style pick. I love the black shorts I think they'd be super flattering as well as cool in the heat. The sandals are funky enough to add a real edge to the outfit without being too difficult to walk in. And as for the ring - LOVE ha-ha.
Outfit Two - Girlie
This outfit is so freakin cute. It's not exactly my personal style but if I saw it on someone else I would love it. The shorts are so gorgeous in a vintage esque way and as for the sandals - j'adore!

Outfit Three - Boho

This is a very laid-back California girl set. I absolutely adore the shorts with their pocket detailing and the sandals are amazing! This'd definitely be my second choice outfit as I love a bit of bohemia in the warm weather!

So there we are then honey's three Summer Looks for the last of the summer sun, which ones your fave?
If you like / want anything out of the sets let me know and I'll find you a link to the item :)

24.08.2011- Brighton Rock

If you've been shopping over the last few weeks, then you can't fail to have noticed the arrival of a slew of 1960s style designs on the high street. And if you've been inspired by what you've seen of the mods and rockers vibe so far, then you'll love this shoot from the September issue of US Vogue:

Natalia Vodianova and Sam Riley by Mert & Marcus, US Vogue September 2011, styled by Grace Coddington.
I love the sharp tailoring, bright colours and graphic prints, and Natalia rocks a beehive and smoky eye like no-one else can. Plus it's great to see Sam Riley (who was so good in Control) hitting the big time in America, as the adaptation of Brighton Rock in which he stars is released over there. Definitely a must-watch if you need a further dose of 60s inspiration.

What do you think of this shoot? And have you been inspired by any 60s fashion you've seen on the high street so far?

22.08.2011- Monday Must-haves

Hello lovelies! I've just about gathered myself after my earlier post! Hope you're all having a beautiful start to the week. Here's my round up of everything I'm currently coveting (and trying to make space for in my wardrobe!)

I've posted about these paperbag style skirts from New Look before, and, after picking up the dusty pink version for a bargain price of £15 in the sale, I've now got my eye on these other colours- the deep red one is edging ahead at the moment. Another coat from Oasis after last week's post (sorry for being so predictable!) but when I saw this gorgeous 60s style mac I couldn't resist including it. I've posted before about my hunt for the perfect Breton top, and after a few unsuccessful purchases, I stumbled across this one from French Connection, which I've got very high hopes for! Inkeeping with the rather Parisian flavour, I've included these pale pink French Sole ballet pumps...a girl can dream, right? And after seeing this beautiful ring over at the Temporary:Secretary store, I had to feature it- so cute. Finally, this Tesco tote is too much of a bargain to refuse and this lovely lace top from Urban Outfitters has been on my 'to buy' list for ages.

Did you have a good weekend? And what items are you coveting at the moment?

22.08.2011- The Look Show!

Hello! A quick post before I combust with excitement- I just arrived home to an email from the lovely Look team telling me I've been shortlisted as one of the Top 20 bloggers in their blogging competition! I'm honestly speechless! I loved putting together my entry and am so so chuffed it's been picked as one of the top 20. Massive congratulations to everyone else who was shortlisted, let's all go and have some cake in celebration! Also best of luck to everyone for the next stage and thanks so much again to Look!

P.S Fear not, I have a Monday Must-haves post waiting in the wings for later and normal service shall be resumed when I've recovered! :)

That Seventies Style

Hello my lovelies, I hope you're all well on this deliciously sunny late summer day. I know it's Monday but at least if the suns shining then the idea of trecking out to work doesn't seem quiiite as bad, no?

To brighten your day yet further I've been on the hunt for Autumn/Winter style previews again and today I'm bringing you the High-Streets interpritation of one of this Autumns hottest (or coolest shall we say? Much more appropriate ha-ha) trends :

The Seventies.
A decade full of the beautiful juxtoposistion of hedonistic partying and laid back festival frequenting the Seventies is one of my absolute favourite for fashion inspiration.

Here's my top ten high-street picks for Retro Stylin'2011:
This beautiful blush toned blouse just screams seventies luxe to me. From the Studio 54 style sequins to the sexy sheer sleeves this is one seventies shirt that every lady needs in her wardrobe this Autumn. I would team with wet look leggings and killer metallic platforms for a look David Bowie would be begging to borrow!
Topshop £65.00
Now - It wouldn't be Seventies stylin' without a maxi dress or two and this beauty was impossible to leave out! With it's on trend colouring and funky pattern it perfectly fits into your Autumn/Winter must have spec. Wear over a sheer long sleeved blouse + belt tightly. Add a pair of platform boots and you'll look like the next Bianca Jagger.
Miss Selfridge £32.00

In the words of one of the modern day vintage champions Rachel Zoe 'I DIE!' 'It's Bananas' 'Shut the front door' ETC. This is seventies stylin in all it's faux fur REAL glam glory. Team over a simple long sleeve top, flared jeans and platforms and Zoe herself will be offering you a glam contract.
Topshop £70.00

The Seventies were definitely not a decade for the timid dresser. These pants are loud + proud of it. Tone them down by teaming them with a simple black or white tank + Brown platforms. Effortlessly chic but the cut can be tricky to pull off so try these babies on before you swipe the card.
Topshop £45.00

Next up we have these platforms that are so hot Elvis would probably bribe you for a loan of them. Super glam but comfy thanks to that oh-so-practical chunky heel these would look fab with any party frock or wide legged jeans.
New Look £24.99
Speaking of wide-legged jeans here is possibly the best bargain you'll get! Super flattering jeans in a mid-denim colour with a small flair to flatter any figure (all your pears need a pair -pardon the pun- of these in your life to balance out those beautiful hips of yours)team with anything from long line vests + faux fur to pussybow blouses and platforms. Tres chic and an absolute steal:
Peacocks £12.00
Then for underneath your new flares we have these faaabulous platform boots that again wouldn't look out of place on a certain Miss Zoe. Neutral enough to work with anything these could prove to be a real staple for your winter wardrobe. Plus with the platform on those who needs studio 54 - every streets a disco!
Missguided £27.99

Next up we have this super pretty printed frock with a gorgeous pussybow neckline. Perfect with black tights + brogues for a simple daytime look or killer platforms and wine coloured stockings for a night on the town.
Miss Selfridge £46.00
Next up we have another gorgeous pair of platforms. These ones are just gorgeous with their subtle suede material and large blocky heel - The seventies girls sure new how to party so take a hint from them and stock up on block heels for the christmas season! Equally fab for day or night these would look great teamed with the jeans featured above.
New Look £29.99

Lastly we have this beautiful printed blouse which fits right into my 'mustards and custard' colour scheme block a couple of posts back. Elegant yet really glam this'd look perfect tucked into a pair of jeans for an off-duty chic look or worn over some daring hotpants for a night on the razz.
River Island £35.00
So there we are then loves! A quick trip in the time machine back to the shimmering seventies! Hope you like the picks and check back later this week for more High-Street trend covering!

Happy Mondays!
